A popular Welsh language artist, singer-songwriter Meinir Gwilym, originates from Llangristiolus, on Anglesey. With her unique voice and honest words, her Celtic, acoustic, folk rock and pop sounds offers a great variety. She is officially supported by Yamaha, and she Joe Le Taxico-presents a requests programme on BBC Radio Cymru, every afternoon.

 

Joe Le Taxi
The original leaders of the UK Zydeco dance explosion, Joe Le Taxi formed in 1992. The band have been a major influence in the growth of Zydeco in Britain, and continue to combine rock solid dance grooves, mantric melodies and crazy twisted love lyrics to create a stunning original sound which has packed the dance halls of the UK.

Hailing from Newcastle, The Baghdaddies have been astounding audiences across the country for over five years with their eclectic fusion of Balkan gypsy songs and rhythms with funky dance grooves. A staggering array of sounds is produced by the five-piece combination of trumpet, sax, bass, guitar, drums and vocals.

More than just a percussion group, Liverpool Samba School was created over 10 years ago by husband and wife, Roger & Maeve Morris. Their winning combination encompasses their love of music and all things Brazilian. The exquisite costumes worn by the drummers and fabulous dancers from the Liverpool Samba School enhance the vibrant atmosphere created by this band.

Never Mind the BocsDr Jazz
A versatile five-piece band from North Wales, fronted vocally by Neil, Meg and Kate Browning, and driven by rhythm section Pete Walton and David Browning. Collectively, the range of their experience in roots music, from Cajun to ceilidhs, via Blues and folk-rock, ensures a fresh and unique approach to traditional Welsh music and song.

 

 

 

Dr Jazz
A popular North Wales jazz group, Dr Jazz can be heard regularly on television (S4C), and at major Welsh festivals and jazz clubs all over the UK. They have also supported many great names over the years, Kenny Ball, Acker Bilk and Humphrey Lyttelton. The five members play trumpet, trombone, piano, bass and drums.
