Ruthin Gaol
Adults £6 | Children £4
When Ruthin Gaol is locked up for the night the silence descends, but for one night in the year, something stirs ...
On one fateful night in Ruthin, a young boy and his sister fall out. Like all siblings, neither recalls why they argued. But, as the brother finds refuge in the Gaol, Cŵn Annwn, the otherworld dogs awake, and with them the King of Annwn, Arawn arrives to recruit more members to his pack of otherworld dogs. Some of the prisoners' spirits retell their stories, as the sister does her utmost to save her younger brother's living soul from the fateful Arawn and his pack of dogs. Will she succeed ...?
The work has been researched and created by the young cast, using drama, dance and song to portray the colourful history of some of the town's past prisoners. The young cast have had the opportunity to research the stories of historic characters and to use their lively imagination to portray a dramatic piece to the local community.
… and it all happens on One Night ...
